Position Overview

We are a growing vehicle rental service focused on trucks, vans, and utes, with a mission to make rentals seamless and stress-free. To power this vision, we are building an innovative mobile application and need a skilled PHP / Laravel Backend Developer to bring the engine to life behind the scenes. In this role, you will transform high-level ideas into robust backend systems, working closely with stakeholders and a cross-functional team. You’ll play a key part in designing scalable solutions, ensuring smooth API integrations, and adapting quickly in an evolving product environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize backend systems using PHP and Laravel
Design and build scalable RESTful APIs for mobile and web applications
Translate business requirements into efficient technical solutions
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and implement evolving features
Work closely with a Full Stack Flutter Developer to ensure seamless integration
Manage updates, enhancements, and iterative product improvements
Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of backend systems
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications
Maintain clean, well-structured, and high-quality code

Must Have Skills

Strong hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel framework
Solid understanding of backend architecture and API development
Experience working in agile or fast-paced environments with changing requirements
Ability to work independently with minimal documentation
Proficiency in database management (MySQL or similar)
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical collaboration

Preferred Skills

Experience working with mobile app teams, especially Flutter
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
Experience with cloud platforms or deployment processes
Understanding of scalable system design and performance optimization
